Student and Family Support Center

Students and families who would like free, supportive assistance for personal, home or school-related issues are welcome to call or drop by the Will C.Wood Student and Family Support Center.

Services are confidential (except in those situations where a child’s safety is at risk), and are available in multiple languages (English, Spanish, Hmong, Ukrainian, and Russian).
 
Purpose of the Support Center: 

To support students’ academic success and social/emotional well-being

Services Provided:
 Assistance with school, home and personal issues
 Mental health counseling (individual and group counseling)
 Alcohol/drug counseling
 Crisis intervention and suicide risk assessment
 Gang violence intervention and prevention services
 Linkages to school and community resources
 Advocacy for students and family members with school staff and community resource organizations
 Distribution of free school supplies and backpacks
 Home visits
 Youth leadership development
 Bullying and violence prevention programs (e.g. Club Live, Safe School Ambassadors)
